Duration: 2025-2028 Transport emissions are uniquely complex to reduce, prompting PATH2ZERO to provide stakeholders with tools for data-driven, cross-sectoral, and globally collaborative net-zero pathways. The project’s initial methodology includes harmonizing data and mapping EU policy elements as model inputs. A forecasting framework then projects transport activity and emissions to 2050, assessing GHG reduction impacts, fairness and economic considerations.
Duration: 2023-2025 As part of the NHSOS project, pilot actions are being implemented in Chalki, Antikythera, and Kastellorizo, aiming to transform Greek islands into “green” islands through renewable energy sources (RES), energy autonomy and zero carbon emissions. For Chalki, the goal is to evolve from a green energy model to a model of holistic sustainable development, with projects focusing on circular economy, sustainability, and studies on wave energy and waste management. Meanwhile, in Antikythera, the observatory achieves energy autonomy through photovoltaic systems, promoting green energy for small islands. The Green Smart Visitor Card and the Green Park under development will contribute to sustainable tourism development and highlight the project’s green initiatives.
